The VIP Advanced Clothing Design Program is our most exclusive and challenging offering, crafted for young creators with a true passion for fashion and a drive to excel. This elite, advanced-level program is designed for students who have mastered foundational sewing and craft skills and are ready to explore the art of fashion design on a professional level. Each week, students meet via Google Meet in small, focused groups, where they receive hands-on guidance and expert mentorship in advanced design techniques. Personalized projects allow students to explore their unique style while gaining skills in patternmaking, garment construction, and design thinking. This immersive experience builds not only practical design skills but also fosters independence, confidence, and an artist’s mindset.

    Our VIP Advanced Clothing Design Program is designed with a consistent schedule to support your child’s learning journey. Class is starting second week of January 2025

    School Year: Classes are held on Fridays with two available times: 4:00–5:00 PM and 6:30–7:30 PM. These times provide flexibility within a structured schedule, allowing students to engage fully with the program.

    Summer (June Only): Sessions shift to morning hours on Fridays, from 9:00–10:00 AM and 10:15–11:15 AM, maintaining the same weekly rhythm.

    Additional Thursday sessions may be offered if there is strong interest, providing families with an alternate option when needed.

  1. Pre-Enrollment Survey: Complete this brief survey to assess your child’s interest and confirm both your and your child’s commitment to the program.

  2. Enrollment Interview: For applicants with prior experience outside of our program, this conversation allows us to understand your child’s creative goals and ensure the program meets your family’s vision. Graduates of our Sewing and Craft Academy are guaranteed a spot in the Advanced Clothing Design class without the need for a portfolio review or interview.

Due to the structured, skill-building nature of our curriculum, the VIP Academy requires a full-year commitment to support meaningful growth in each student’s abilities.

Required Supplies for the VIP Advanced Clothing Design Program

To support your child’s journey in fashion advanced chlothing design, please ensure they have the following supplies ready for class:

  1. Sewing Machine
    We recommend a reliable, basic mechanical sewing machine to help students master foundational techniques and build confidence in their work.

  2. Fabric
    Wait until after our first class to purchase fabric. We’ll discuss each student’s design ideas and determine the best fabric types and quantities to match their vision.

  3. Pattern Paper
    A few yards of pattern paper will get your child started. For ongoing projects, you may wish to buy it by the bolt. Recommended Pattern Paper

  4. Fusible Interfacing
    1 yard of fusible interfacing, 20" width, in white, is recommended to support fabric structure. Recommended Fusible Interfacing

  5. Basic Tools

    • Pins
    • Ruler
    • Seam ripper
    • School pencils (both white and regular)
    • Scissors 

  6. Future Investments
    As students progress, they may benefit from additional tools, including:

    • Serger: Ideal for professional finishing touches and advanced techniques.
