Advanced Sewing and Clothing Design Class

This advanced junior clothing design program is dedicated to developing the next generation of thinkers, creators, and designers. The more your teenager engages with our activities, the more they learn and grow. Our instructor simplifies complex concepts, making them easily understandable and ensuring students enjoy a creative and supportive learning environment.

2024-2025 School Year Junior Advanced Sewing Program 

For the 2024-2025 school year, our advanced programs will run throughout the year. Tuition will be charged monthly and automatically deducted from your designated payment method.

The program starts on September 3, 2024, and ends on May 22, 2025.

Important Dates:

• No Classes On:
• November 23-30: Thanksgiving Break
• December 23 - January 4: Winter Break
• March 24-29: Spring Break

Make-Up Classes:

• Make-up classes for inclement weather will be scheduled at the beginning of June, for up to two days.
• For all other make-up sessions, please discuss with Mrs. A.

Be your own Fashion Designer.

As seen in the images on this page, our students thoroughly enjoy creating their own unique and beautiful clothes. The most rewarding moment is witnessing their proud smiles when they wear their own designs.

Only a few students are enrolled every year.

In this class, we welcome only those students who demonstrate understanding, talent, passion, and respect for this craft during our sewing summer camps and who have deeply valued the tradition of dressing people elegantly and appropriately since ancient times. This class opens a whole new world of creativity and opportunities.

To enroll your child in this class, follow these steps:

1. Sign Up for Summer Sewing Camps:
   The initial step is to register your child for our sewing summer camps. These camps are designed to introduce children to the basics of sewing and designing.

2. Observation of Interest and Talent:
   During the summer camps, our instructors will observe each child's enthusiasm and aptitude for sewing and designing. It's important that your child shows both a passion for and skill in these areas.

3. Receive an Invitation:
   Based on their performance and interest in the summer camps, selected children will receive an invitation to enroll in the sewing class for the entire school year. This invitation is crucial as it signifies that your child has met the prerequisites for the class.

Please note that open enrollment for the class is only available in the fall for the entire school year. Make sure to register for the summer camps early to secure a spot and provide your child with the opportunity to qualify for the year-long class.

What do students learn from this Advanced Clothing Design and Sewing Class?

First, this class begins with making the sketch, which is essential for young talents to express their creative design ideas for their future garment or accessories. Afterward, we carefully select the materials needed for their project. Once the idea is clear and the materials are ready, we move on to patternmaking, cutting, setting up the project, and getting ready for our first tryout. We use models with adjustable measurements for that purpose. If the project needs to be adjusted, we do this so. Once everything is well set up, we proceed to the final sewing of our garment/accessory and professional finishing. During this creative process, our instructor assists and helps with different solutions and skills but lets the student be the main engine.

Who is teaching the Advanced sewing and clothing design program?

Hooray for Mrs. A (Aneta Takeva). Mrs. A is a very crafty and talented teacher with the power to create and 15 years of experience teaching crafty kids like yours. She has a degree in art and grew up in a tailor family, participating in the family tradition from a very young age. She can design almost anything from anything and the best of all is that young students are listening and following her.
