This is our highest-level Fashion and advanced clothing design pathway for students ages 10+, created for students who are ready to move beyond sewing basics into independent garment construction, original pattern thinking, and college-level design thinking adapted for young designers.

Students learn in a Design studio-style environment, where they grow through hands-on creation, observation, and real design processes—similar to how professional designers work.

Program Requirements

This advanced Fashion & Clothing Design pathway is best for students who already demonstrate:

  • strong fine motor precision
  • confident independent use of the sewing machine
  • clean sewing habits and attention to detail
  • patience for longer construction projects
  • readiness for more independent design decisions

Enrollment Open for the 2026–2027 School Year

August 31, 2026 – May 27, 2027

What Students Develop

Students in this advanced pathway develop:

  • deep understanding of clothing construction and pattern making
  • advanced design thinking, silhouettes, and collection development
  • original finished garments and design pieces that become an important part of a future design portfolio

Levels & Schedule

Highest Level — Monday 5:00 PM

Our most advanced group for students already working with strong sewing independence, original construction ideas, and high creative maturity.

Hybrid Fashion & Toy Design Lab — Monday 6:15 PM

Our most exclusive hybrid advanced group, where students combine fashion design, clothing construction, toy design, textiles, and original runway-ready work.

Second Advanced Level — Friday 5:00 PM

A strong next-step advanced group where students continue developing clothing construction, more refined silhouettes, and increasingly independent design decisions.

Why This Program Is Unique

Unlike most children’s fashion classes that rely on ready-made patterns, our students learn to think through construction, create their own pattern logic, and solve real garment design challenges independently.

This is what makes their work stronger, more original, and far more valuable for future advanced design study.

Important Portfolio Value

This pathway helps students build advanced clothing design, construction, and original project pieces that can be used as an important part of a larger future design portfolio.

For students preparing for high school art tracks, design academies, or future college-level portfolio work, this creates a powerful technical foundation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need strong sewing and fine motor skills?
Yes. This advanced Fashion & Clothing Design pathway is created for students who already have strong fine motor precision, confident sewing machine use, and the ability to work independently on longer garment construction projects.

What if my child is still a beginner?
If your child is still building sewing confidence, precision, or sewing machine independence, we recommend beginning in our Sewing & Design Foundations pathway before moving into this advanced fashion level.

How do new students start?
All new students interested in this advanced pathway begin with an Advanced Placement Assessment, so we can place them into the strongest level for their current construction and design skills.
