Digital Animation Classes for Kids in Schaumburg
At Aneta Art Classes | Design School, our students learn to think like digital animators.
They don't simply learn how to use animation software. Instead, they discover how animations are created while designing their own characters, backgrounds, and digital scenes through carefully structured projects.
Every project is carefully designed to introduce one new animation skill at a time. As students gain confidence, they gradually combine these skills to create more complex animations while developing creativity, problem-solving, and design thinking.
What Is Digital Animation?
Digital animation is the process of creating the illusion of movement using digital artwork.
Every animated movie, video game, or online animation begins with original artwork, carefully planned movement, timing, storytelling, and hundreds of creative decisions.
Our students discover how these animations are created by learning the same fundamental principles through exciting, hands-on projects designed especially for children.
Why Kids Love Our Digital Animation Class
Today's children naturally connect with animation because they grow up surrounded by digital media, video games, animated movies, and creative technology.
What makes our program exciting is that students quickly move from watching animations to creating their own.
Our carefully designed projects make complex animation concepts easy to understand, allowing children to experience success from the very beginning. Watching their own drawings come to life gives them an incredible sense of achievement and motivates them to keep learning.
Why Parents Love Our Digital Animation Program
Parents love seeing their children become creators instead of consumers.
Instead of simply following stories created by others, students begin asking questions, solving creative problems, and bringing their own ideas to life.
Throughout the program, children develop creativity, patience, attention to detail, visual thinking, and confidence while learning valuable digital skills in a structured environment.
How Children Learn Digital Animation
Children learn through carefully designed, project-based lessons.
Every project hides an important animation concept inside an exciting creative challenge.
Instead of memorizing software tools, students naturally learn essential skills such as:
- Understanding the animation timeline
- Creating movement
- Working with layers
- Designing original characters
- Building digital backgrounds
- Controlling timing
- Adding sound and visual effects
Every completed project becomes the foundation for the next one, allowing students to progress naturally without feeling overwhelmed.
Why We Teach Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Animate
Our students use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate because together they provide a complete creative workflow.
Students first learn how to create their own digital artwork in Photoshop before bringing those creations to life through animation in Adobe Animate.
Rather than relying on ready-made graphics, children develop both digital illustration and animation skills while understanding how professional digital animations are created.
Our Digital Lab
Students learn in our fully equipped Digital Lab using professional computers, drawing tablets, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Animate.
All software and equipment are provided for in-person students, allowing them to focus entirely on creativity and learning.

Career Path
Digital animation combines creativity, technology, and storytelling, opening the door to many exciting creative careers.
Character Designer & Concept Artist
Children who love drawing often enjoy creating original characters, creatures, and environments. These artists use strong drawing skills and imagination to design the visual worlds behind animated movies and video games.
Animation & Technical Animation
Some students discover they enjoy the technical side of animation—bringing characters to life through movement, timing, visual effects, and interactive animation. As they continue learning, they may explore advanced animation tools, scripting, and programming used in the animation and gaming industries.
Game Design
Many of our students are inspired by the games they love to play. Learning digital animation helps them understand how characters, environments, movement, and storytelling come together to create interactive experiences.
Game Design combines creativity with technology and has become one of today's fastest-growing creative industries.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need drawing experience?
Drawing experience is recommended, but it is not required.
Animation combines both artistic creativity and technical skills. Children who enjoy drawing and have stronger drawing skills often progress more quickly because they are able to create more expressive characters, backgrounds, and visual stories.
In general, the better a child draws on paper, the stronger their performance in animation, especially if they dream of becoming an animator or digital artist.
However, some students are more interested in the technical side of animation—learning how movement, timing, layers, and effects work. For these children, advanced drawing skills are less important, and they can still enjoy and succeed in the program while gradually improving their digital illustration abilities.
Why do students use both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate?
Our students work with both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Animate throughout the program because each software has a different purpose.
Adobe Photoshop allows students to create detailed digital artwork, characters, backgrounds, and textures with much greater artistic control.
Adobe Animate is where students bring those creations to life by learning movement, timing, layers, and animation techniques.
Using both programs together gives students a much deeper understanding of the complete animation process while helping them build both artistic and technical skills.
What age is this class designed for?
Our Digital Animation program is designed for students ages 10 and older.
Around this age, many children develop a much stronger interest in animation, video games, and digital media. They are also more comfortable using computers independently and have the attention span needed to understand animation concepts and creative software.
We've found that students around age 10 enjoy the program much more because they can work more independently, solve creative challenges, and fully appreciate the process of creating their own digital animations.
Younger children usually require significantly more one-on-one assistance, which can make the learning experience less enjoyable. That's why we recommend starting this program at age 10, after students have developed the maturity and digital confidence needed to succeed.
